On Apr. 21, Dr. Su An Phipps, CSC Program Director for our Healthy Women, Healthy Futures-Oklahoma initiative, was awarded the Nursing Research Award by the Oklahoma Nursing Association (ONA) District 2 at a luncheon held at Tulsa Community College.
According to ONA, Dr. Phipps received the award for her significant impact on nursing practice through the use of research as a basis for practice innovation. Specifically, Dr. Phipps was honored for her decades of work devoted to improving Oklahoma’s dismal statistics for at-risk mothers and infants.
ONA commemorated Dr. Phipps’ research upon her receipt of the award, stating she “has made a positive impact on health disparities in Oklahoma, by reducing maternal and infant morbidity and mortality.”
In February 2017, Dr. Phipps was also honored with The Women of the Year Pinnacle Award, given in partnership between the YWCA and the Mayor’s Commission on the Status of Women.
Congratulations Dr. Phipps!
