The Community Service Council’s A Way Home for Tulsa Strategic Planning initiative has published a Business Guide for Responding to Homelessness for Tulsa area businesses with an array of resources on how best to respond to homelessness, particularly in and around their workplace. The resource guide includes information to assist businesses and organizations in helping at-risk employees, understanding best practices in responding to homelessness and serving homeless individuals. The guide also includes breakroom posters and emergency contact information.
In addition to publishing the guide, the AWH4T Strategic Planning team asked downtown businesses to complete a survey on the impact of homelessness in Tulsa’s Inner Dispersal Loop (IDL) to increase understanding of the issues in that particular area to help improve systems that best support all.
CSC’s Housing & Homelessness team presented the toolkit at Tulsa’s Healthcare Forum hosted by the Tulsa Regional Chamber in July 2019, and the Tulsa World covered the launch of the new resource at https://www.tulsaworld.com/news/local/government-and-politics/chamber-partner-organizations-offer-toolkit-for-businesses-to-help-homeless/article_29012226-f141-5083-9411-1b63d6616fd2.html
