On August 1, Community Service Council’s Housing and Homelessness team partnered with several of our A Way Home for Tulsa agencies for a specialized event designed to bring services and resources together to quickly get people into housing. The event operated like a “one-stop shop” for housing resources, held at the Tulsa City-County Library, where local service providers came together to offer wraparound services to participants in need of housing.
The Tulsa Day Center organized apartment tours, Morton Comprehensive Health provided transportation, and case managers were able to go with clients to see potential apartments for their clients. Other provider agencies on site to help participants included Legal Aid Services of Oklahoma, Tulsa Community WorkAdvance, Family & Children’s Services, and the Community Service Council’s All Doors Open program.
McNellie’s Group provided lunch so that participants, partner agencies and case managers could have dedicated time to fill out applications and meet with representatives from provider agencies.
CSC’s Housing and Homelessness team is looking forward to coordinating more events like this in the future, where a comprehensive array of services are provided in a convenient setting for those experiencing, or at-risk of, homelessness.
