CSC Director to Serve on National Veteran Treatment Court Faculty

In January 2018, CSC’s Tammy Westcott, Division Director of our Incarceration Reduction Division and Program Director for our Tulsa County COURTS Program, was selected to serve as a national faculty member for the Veterans Treatment Court Operational Tune-Ups sponsored by the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), U.S. Department of Justice, in collaboration with the Justice for Vets (JFV), a division of the National Association of Drug Court Professionals.

The Operational Tune-Up training curriculum is designed to expand knowledge, enhance skills and improve outcomes for veterans treatment courts in operation two years or more. These trainings will be conducted in local jurisdictions hosting up to five teams per training. As faculty, Westcott will both facilitate breakout sessions and deliver presentations during this two-day training along with JFV staff.

“It is an honor to be invited to participate,” said Westcott. “Training five teams at one time is always exciting as there is great energy and collaboration.”

CSC is very proud of Westcott’s accomplishments, both locally within the alternative courts and criminal justice system, and nationally with her expanding leadership and training roles.
