CSC’s Criminal Justice Initiative Honors its Volunteer Mentors

CSC’s Tulsa Reentry One-Stop hosted an appreciation dinner on March 6 at Post Oak Lodge & Retreat to honor the dedication of their volunteers who embody the mission of the organization: working to help men and women returning home from prison.

Volunteer mentors serve in a variety of ways, including instructing life skills classes, facilitating group sessions, and one-on-one mentoring. Most importantly, each volunteer mentor at Tulsa Reentry One-Stop serves as an advocate, positive role model, and source of encouragement to their mentee.

For many, the journey from incarceration to reintegration is a difficult one. While many factors contribute to an individual’s success upon returning home from prison, perhaps the most vital is the existence of a healthy and positive support system.
