CSC Team Attends Urban Public Health Conference

This September, five staff members from CSC’s Health & Mental Health Division traveled to Nashville, Tenn. to attend the CityMatCH and Healthy Start joint three-day conference titled Creating Harmony: Every Voice Counts. The conference focused on maternal, child and family health, specifically protecting and promoting the health of urban families. Those in attendance from CSC were Corrina Jackson, Program Manager for our Tulsa Healthy Start, Shauna Meador, Division Director for our Health & Mental Health Division, Melanie Poulter, Program Manager of our Census Information Center of Eastern Oklahoma, Dr. Su Phipps, Program Manager for our Healthy Women, Healthy Futures-OK, and Laura Ross-White, Program Manager for our Family Health Coalition.

The team enhanced their knowledge on recent research, effective community collaboration, and partnership opportunities for the sector. Additionally while in Nashville, the team engaged with Healthy Start teams from across the country while focusing on their efforts to reduce infant mortality and address postpartum depression.
